Water Savings Performance Program
Public Sector Program
The Public Sector Program offers financial incentives to public agencies to implement immediate water efficiency measures for conservation and water recycling. The program targets agencies that use 50 acre-feet or more of water per year. Participation is possible in the following four ways: 1) Receive a free water-efficiency assessment; 2) Receive up-front funding to purchase water efficient devices; 3) Receive pay-for-performance incentives for reducing water use through operational actions; and 4) Receive incentives to fund on-site retrofits and system upgrades to use recycled water. Participation in the program is limited to public agencies on a first-come, first-served basis.

CII Rebate Program
The Commercial, Industrial, & Institutional Save-A-Buck Rebate Program provides a rebate for the replacement of older, inefficient devices used by businesses. The installation of many of the products save not only water, but also wastewater and energy. Customers are contacted for follow-up inspections as part of ongoing quality control procedures. Rebates are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Artificial Turf
The Center for Disease Control recently issued a health advisory on the safety of artificial turf. The advisory indicates that lead may be present in certain artificial turf products, and may be released into the environment as the artificial turf ages and breaks down. This may pose a health risk to children. Based on this health advisory, the Water Authority will be suspending its artificial turf incentive program for the San Diego region while we await more definitive scientific results and recommendations on the safety of artificial turf.
